About This Event

The Claxton-Evans County Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor the 24th Annual Cruisin’ in the Country Cycling Weekend.

New this year, we are offering a 30 -mile trail/adventure ride option.  Another new, exciting feature is the first ever, Cruisin’ 5-k Run, with options to run and ride the 18 or 31 mile Cruisin’ route.

Make your Cruisin’ experience a weekend outdoor adventure.  Bring your canoe, kayak, or paddleboard and enjoy the Canoochee River or one of the three beautiful lakes at the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Evans County Public Fishing Area. (Note – paddle boarding is not permitted at the DNR Public Fishing Area.)

Cruisin’ is a family friendly bicycle ride.   It is not a race.  Five different ride options will be offered to ensure there’s a ride suited for each skill level.  Whatever route you choose, you will travel over roads with minimal traffic and enjoy the beautiful scenic views.

While riding, you will benefit from SAG vehicles patrolling the routes, as well as our award-winning, friendly, themed rest stops located every 10 to 20 miles.   East rest stop will be stocked with water, Power-Ade, fruit, various snacks, and special, home-made mouth-watering treats.  In addition, port-a-potties and/or rest rooms will be available at each stop.

A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will be donated to Evans County C.A.R.E.S., Inc., a local not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to cancer patients and their families and supporting national and regional cancer research programs, including St Joseph’s/Candler Health System (Nancy and J.C. Lewis Cancer Research Pavilion) Savannah, GA; Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, GA; Georgia Health Science Foundation Cancer Center, Augusta, GA; and the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health, Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA.
