About This Event
10 Years of the Heartbreaker Cycling Invitational! Where did the time go?! This isn’t some Johnny Come Lately event riding the gravel wave!

The Heartbreaker is an event that traverses some of Gainesville’s most beautiful roads. Featuring Live Oak canopies adorned with Spanish moss, dirt, limerock, gravel and paved roads, this ride has it all.

Event Date, Time and Location Details:
Saturday, November 13, 2021.
One Love Cafe in Magnolia Park
4989 Northwest 40th Place
Gainesville, FL 32606

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT BICYCLE CHOICE:
Cyclocross or Mountain bikes are recommended for this ride. The road surfaces are NOT road bike friendly, please leave your road bike at home. Those on Mountain bikes, it is recommended you you fit a faster rolling tire that rolls well on pavement. Heavy, offroad specific tires with lots of knobs will really hurt your speed on the paved sectors.

RIDE ROUTES:
Posted in the week leading up to the event.
  • NFFGS guidelines for all our events:
  • * The organizers make no claims as to the surface or traffic conditions of any route. We post the maps, you decide to ride.
  • * These are open public roads with all the hazards included thereon. Know your skills, know your physical limits. Ride at YOUR OWN risk.
  • * There are no mass starts for these events – you can begin whenever you wish, be it 3am or 3pm. Ride solo or get your own group together. Just keep your proper distance from us as you go by.
  • ^^^ Mass start protocol may change by the time this event rolls around, fingers crossed!
  • * Depending upon when you start, you may need lights – at the outset or on the run in to finish. Make your own judgements about timing but front and rear lights are legally required in Florida when it’s dark. We recommend always riding with a 50+ lumen rear flasher in daytime.
  • * We expect all participants to adhere to common sense COVID protocols. If you have a problem with that, stay home. These events are free of charge so we don’t need your revenue. Nor do we need your opinion. If you want to make a healthy event political then GFY.
  • * Now get out and ride.

THE COURSE IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC. PLEASE RESPECT ALL RULES OF THE ROAD.
Do not litter, be kind to locals. These roads are local to the Gravel Cyclist & NFFGS, we wish to keep our friendly relationships with many of the local landowners
