About This Event

The Mount Dora LIVE IT Ride is produced by LIVE IT EVENTS, LLC of Eustis. The purpose of the event is to provide a phenomenal cycling event that draws guests from all over the state of Florida… and beyond.

Proceeds from the event provide scholarships for deserving high school students to change their life’s trajectory. Without these funds, these applicants may not have realized trade school was an option for them. The projected growth for Lake County shows that there will be a shortage of skilled workers. We want to help meet this need.

Recipients can choose between classes at Lake Technical Institute or Lake Sumter State College. Candidates will apply through Mount Dora High School Guidance Department and will be interviewed prior to selection.

The goal of LIVE IT organizers is to help as many students as possible each spring, as this will be an annual event.

The event itself consists of four different rides to choose from:

  1. The Rubber Chicken Ride (a 16-mile photo scavenger hunt by bike)
  2. A Half Metric Century Ride (30 miles)
  3. A Metric Century Ride (63 miles)
  4. The Sugarloaf Challenge (3 different contests on Sugarloaf Mountain. Prizes for King and Queen (fastest climbers), Sloth of the Mountain (slowest climbers) and Most Ascents within a specified time (45 minutes)

What does it mean to LIVE IT?

To do the things / challenges that push you while you can…. And help others at the same time. Win-win.
